What Happens Next

• We call you back within 24 hours. A short conversation to understand the property and answer anything obvious before a visit.
• We survey the loft. About an hour. Head height measured from the ceiling joists, roof identified as cut or trussed, span direction checked, staircase position established. We also check the planning position — conservation status in the older towns, or removed permitted development rights if the property is on a newer estate.
• You get a fixed written quotation. Structural calculations, Building Regulations submission, staircase and making good all inside the figure, with no provisional sums left hanging.

What We Will Ask You

Three things help us give you a useful answer on the first call. Roughly when the house was built, which indicates whether the roof is likely cut or trussed. Whether it is a terrace, a semi or detached, since that sets both the conversion options and the permitted development allowance. And what you want the space for, because a bedroom with an en suite and a home office are different jobs.
